Last week, I realized there's a way to fit all of my interests together and support one very special cause. A good friend of mine has organized a race that benefits Down syndrome orphans looking to be adopted into loving families, and right now they are working toward Vaughn's adoption fund. I would explain all about RODS Racing here, but I wouldn't be able to do it justice, so follow the link for more info. Instead, I'll get to the point!!
If you are in the Boise area--or could be--on Sept. 14, please come run, walk, or otherwise support little Vaughan who is looking to be adopted! Races include a half-marathon, 10K, 5K, and fun runs. Every runner helps, no matter the age!

And you don't even need to be at the race physically to help. You can donate directly to Vaughn's fund.
In conjunction with the race, I'll be selling copies of my books at the race and will donate a percentage of my sales to RODS Racing toward Vaughn's adoption. So if you enjoy reading books about adoption or special needs children, health concerns or running, try Family Size and Nourish & Strengthen. Not only the day of the event, but I will also donate a percentage from the sale of every paperback bought from me personally or from my website for the month of September. For ebooks, I will donate for every copy purchased from Smashwords using the following coupon codes:
Family Size code ZL32X
Nourish & Strengthen code FM88Z
It's super easy. Just follow the links (click on the book title above), set up an account with Smashwords (if you don't already have one), choose the digital version you'd like to download (it has everything from Kindle, Nook, iBook, Sony, etc.), and then at checkout, look for the box and enter the code. You'll receive the SALE price and it will be flagged for me to include in my RODS Racing totals. This sale will continue for the month of September.
So please, join the race. Support a great cause. Purchase a book. Share this link with your friends. Let's help Vaughn meet his new family! Also, follow them on Facebook for up-to-date info on the race and follow-up photos!
